San Antonio certainly has its fair share of ghost stories. It’s to be expected as the city has a long dark history dating back to the Texas revolution in the 1800s. Thousands of people were killed during that period. I figured the best way to learn some history was by attending a San Antonio ghost tour.
San Antonio Ghost Tour
As I said before, I’m not a believer in the paranormal, but I do love going on city ghost tours because it’s a great way to get more familiar with a place and its history. San Antonio has a lot of different companies that put on ghost tours and other similar activities.
I did the haunted history walk with Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours. I didn’t do any research on the different companies offering ghost tours in San Antonio. Everything I did on this trip to San Antonio was a last minute decision.
I’m not going to spoil any of the ghost stories but I will show you a few pictures of some places that these tours take you to see.
The Alamo
San Antonio Ghost Tour
Yes! The Alamo is said to be haunted! If you consider that 100’s of people were killed here during the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, and then add all the people that died in the surrounding area during the revolution, you are bound to get some ghost stories.
People have claimed to have seen the ghosts of famous people; Davy Crockett, James Bowie, and William B. Travis to name a few. I will leave the rest of the information for your tour guide to tell.
Other Haunted Places
Our tour guide Mike, did an excellent job of safely guiding us through the haunted streets of San Antonio. Mike had some interesting ghost stories that coincided with all of the famous historic buildings we had visited.
Mike told us to take lots of pictures because cameras can sometimes pick up paranormal images that can’t otherwise be seen with the naked eye. People on his tours have reported finding paranormal images in their photos after they took the time to examine them.
According to legend The Holiday Inn Express is the most haunted place in San Antonio. Mike told us some great stories about this building. I will leave all the details for you to find out for yourself.
