Vancouver’s Stanley Park
Vancouver’s Stanley Park is one of Canada’s main attractions! This massive park wraps around the north point of Vancouver offering tourists and locals over 400 hectares of trees, and trails to explore.
You can visit the park for free, however, it will cost you about 3 CND ( 2.25 USD) to 7 CDN ( 5.50 USD) per hour to park. Check the City of Vancouver website for the latest prices.
Activities
Vancouver’s Stanley Park is a great place to take the family for a day trip because the park has so much to offer. You can walk or bike along the Stanley Park Seawall (12 km (8 miles)), relax on a bench and stare at the sea, check out the totem pole park, lay on a beach, do a forest hike, or visit The Vancouver Aquarium.
Vancouver’s Seawall trail is paved and is relatively flat. Please be mindful that there are two lanes; one lane is designated for walker and a second lane is for bikers.
Vancouver’s Stanley Park Sights
If you take the time to walk the entire seawall you can see a lot of different things along the way. The pictures posted will take you along Vancouver’s Seawall from East to West.
One of the first things you will see is the famous Lions Gate Bridge. If you look closely you may recognize this bridge as it’s been in a lot of Hollywood movies.
Vancouver has a big film industry because of its’ desirable climate, and various landscapes. Also, the weak Canadian Dollar makes Vancouver a more economical place for American filmmakers to produce movies.
High Tide Low Tide
As you can see in a few of these pictures the water can get rough during high tide. So you may want to pay attention because if you don’t you might get splashed by the loving sea!
Stanley Park has 3 beaches on its’ west side. These beaches tend to disappear during at high tide.
Sun Set
If you time your visit right, you can end your walk along The Seawall on the west side for sunset. Believe it or not, there is a beach under that water, but the tide was high when I took this photo.
I took the cover photo for this blog post at the very start of Stanley Park from the west side. You can find a lot of cool sculptures that are similar to the one in my photo.
